I arrived at a busy time for Gap Year Nepal, meetings, meetings, meetings!! So many people, donors, volunteers, NGOs, advisers, busy but very productive. I have had the great pleasure of working with such a beautiful group of souls, so much light and love! Anish, Shiva, Santosh, my chori (Bijaya), Didi, al the team looked after me and made sure I was ok. The earth was rocking but we were all together working for Nepal and its’ wonderful people. A fabulous experience and very treasured. Resilience! So much light and love,

My experience in Nepal (3 months) I flew in from South India and met a chaotic Kathmandu. It was not love at first sight. I moved out to a little village, Nuwakot and like that. I taught science in an English school which was challenging. I really loved the students. My family was very nice. Then after four weeks I moved back to Katmandu to work in Kanti Children’s Hospital. They didn’t have any plan for me but I hanged around with the students. They took care of me. But I didn’t do any proper work there, just observing. I went 10 days to Kapan Monastery for a Buddhist and meditation course, which I can really recommend. I went to yoga at Pranayama, which I also would like to recommend. Thank you for helping me around,

My Experience in Nepal : I spent in Nepal one month for Med Volunteer in Kathmandu. I worked in B.P. Smriti Hospital (Emergency Ward) and I loved it! Doctors were really nice to me and happy to answer all my questions and I totally loved the nurses!! I learned to many practical medical things! My family was kind and always ready to help me. I enjoyed the food (thank you Prem). Bijaya from Gap Year Nepal is such a cool person, she helps me a lot the first days when I was feeling lost and she is still one of my best friends (love you honey!). The welcome from Gap Year Nepal was great and well organized.

Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan Trip - 3 Months GAP Year Program - I don’t even know where to start when it comes to waiting down a review about the last three months here in Nepal. During this long but somehow also really short time filed. period of time I was able to explore Nepal in every kind of way I could even think about we could experience some action with the river rafting and Bungy jump we could enjoy the beautiful nature on the trekking tour. we could get to know the culture by visiting temples and other important cultural sites and least we could get in touch with the local people which leads me to have a big family and a lot of friends here in Nepal now.

Nepali attitude It took some time to get used to Nepali time something we encountered daily! It was really difficult on the beginning but after a few weeks it became sort of a blessing that we always have 10 more minutes to get ready. The awesome about Nepali time is that everything is possible even if you change your flight in the very last second everyone will be in their toes to help and make everything possible and comfortable.

I thought the programme was good but in the beginning there was a new thing to do every day and it was a little bit stressed and if you where sick you would miss a part of the programme, at that’s little bit sad and maybe you should consider having a little time to get to know each other in the beginning of the programme with like some social activities and also more flexibility in the programme so it would it would be easier to stay one more day in a great place or go home one day earlier if you want to. But over all great experience and great support doing the programme.

It would be nice it we had a chance to live with a family who didn’t have a lot of money and we could help them like a really farm. But the family needs to have water. Nicer and wilder river fating. Too much difference from the packed program in the beginning compacted to the time on the orphanage. It should be possible and a nice idea to change the program if you watch to do something else.

Dal Bhat and great experienced Being away from home nearly 2 months require coo rye and a heart that loves travelling not one day is spending getting I chose to go to Nepal. This trip has been absolutely perfect. From seeing all the temples and a new cremation to river rifting massage and the bigger mountains in the whole world. Though it has been hard with all the days with sickness and diarrhea there was always supportive friends and guides nearby. My mind and thoughts have been through a lot and I have learned much more than I ever expected especially about Nepal and Tibet and I am having a hard time leaving Nepal all the new friends I have got along this trip.

Initiative - The Nepali people are very open. Throughout the entire volunteering projects many opportunities have been presented –even pushed upon the participants. Usually they have to seek out the possibilities themselves, but the school project has been so rich in possibilities beyond imagination…If you choose this yet rarely taken gift “please embrace the possibilities and know that everything is possible. Everything from being able to held presentation in front of 120 formal teachers to changing the entire method of teaching on a private school-such a privilege and ace honor. Please do seize this and do not be afraid of it.
