Medical Internship Program in Nepal

We are looking for motivated individuals with a desire to help others receive the healthcare services they deserve. If you wish to learn more about healthcare in a developing country, gain more experience, or just hope to help those less fortunate, then a medical internship in Nepal is for you!

Program Overview

If you wish to learn more about healthcare in a developing country, gain more shadowing and volunteer experiences, or simply hope to help those without accessible healthcare, then this medical internship is for you! We are looking for motivated individuals with a desire to help others receive the healthcare services they deserve. Students will shadow physicians (or other healthcare professionals) and sometimes directly interact with Nepalese patients under supervision. They will keep a notebook to write down thoughts and lessons they learned each day, and will be required to submit a final report reflecting on the internship on the last day. This is a great opportunity to learn about the hospital dynamics in Nepal and gain a global perspective on healthcare!

“Deciding to leave home was the scary thing and actually doing it was the scariest but you need to do things in life that scare you, and I was so lucky to have Step abroad along the way if I ever needed something! (And believe me, I did lol) there is so much to see in this crazy beautiful world and I’m happy to say I’m lost in the right direction!”

Namaste! Dear one This trip has been the dream that I have been planning for a long time. I always wanted to contribute from the professional perspective while also immerging myself in the culture and nature of this unique region. Since childhood my goal has been to train as a doctor to help others. As I progressed through my studies my desire to heal the sick without expecting anything in turn, along with a deeper understanding of society and needs. The love for nature is a universal thing human instinct, and I am no exception. Visiting the mountains of Nepal, one of the world's most inspiring place. Amond the tallest peak the landscapes seem to touch the soul of those who experience this. In conclusion, this journey has been truly unique term. Every place in the world offers beautiful memories but in Nepal, I discovered a different kind of mystery. Its culture so different from my own religion and society left me with lots of memories.

Namaste! I have always wanted to volunteer but it was never the time, until I finally decided to do it and embark on this journey alone. The truth is that it has been a unique and unforgettable experience and I am sure that it will not be the last volunteering I do. I personally do medical volunteering and I am very happy to have been able to enjoy the experience and learn from them, from the first time and day they have welcomed we with open and taught we how to treat the same patients but with fewer resources than in Spain in addition to being able to help those most in need. I want to thank all the family members that you form here, you are a wonderful team, never change! But especially Didi, the best cook in all of Nepal, and that without knowing how to speak English and with very little communication, it takes a hole in my heart. I hope to see you again soon, but if not in Spain you have your house.
