You will have the opportunity to learn the complexity of the business world while making a real-time impact on the local and global community. You will also be able to learn how to overcome cultural barriers and develop international relationships in business dealings and networking.
Gap Year Nepal business interns will benefit from a network of highly qualified specialists and personnel in a multitude of fields, offering comprehensive services related to foreign investments. These include advisory services on entry strategies, exchange control, foreign investment policies, assistance in investment approvals, tax and commercial implications of joint venture, and technology transfer agreements. Program Itinerary
Week 01: Arrival, Orientation & Immersion into Nepali Business Environment
The moment you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll be embraced by the beauty and warmth of Nepal. Week 1 is all about cultural immersion and business orientation to set the stage for your internship. From Nepali history to business dynamics in Nepal, you’ll be ready to jump into your role and start making an impact.
What to Expect:
- Warm Welcome & Airport Pickup: After landing in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by a friendly Gap Year Nepal team and taken to your accommodation. Get ready to explore the vibrant streets of Nepal!
- Cultural Immersion: Discover the heart of Nepal through Nepali language lessons, historical insights, and cultural experiences. Understand the business practices in Nepal, and how local businesses navigate challenges.
- Kathmandu City Exploration: A guided Kathmandu city tour will introduce you to iconic landmarks like Durbar Square, the Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath), and bustling local markets.
- Company Introduction: Meet your assigned business team, get introduced to their goals, and understand the company’s business strategy. This will help you integrate quickly into your new role.
- Integration with Your Team: Start bonding with your colleagues. Learn about their roles, responsibilities, and how you’ll collaborate on your project over the next few weeks.
Week 02: Skill Development, Business Tools & Project Planning
In Week 2, you’ll focus on developing business skills and mastering essential tools that businesses rely on. This week will help you get comfortable with business analysis tools like Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or other systems used by your company. You’ll also begin planning your project, setting clear goals for the next two weeks.

- Mentor Check-ins: Your mentor will be with you every step of the way, offering guidance and helping you refine your approach. Regular check-ins will keep you on track, ensuring that your project aligns with company goals.

- Departure: You’ll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your return flight, taking with you memories and skills that will shape your future.
